120/240 VAC installations
For 120/240 VAC installations, connect each black lead to each of the hot lines and the Grounded/Neutral white wire to the neutral bus bar as shown in the figures.
For 120VAC installations, connect both black leads to the line (hot) and the Grounded/Neutral white lead to the neutral bus bar. This type of installation is commonly found at individual pieces of equipment.

Is the 5-2-1 Surge Protector UL certified?
Absolutely. 5-2-1 SPD series surge protectors are certified to the latest 1449 3rd edition UL standard (including a certificate number) that can be found on our manual, literature, packaging and UL website
What is maximum surge current rating for each model?
The SPD60 is rated up to 60,000 amps. The SPD150 is rated up to 100,000 amps.
Why are there two indicator lights?
5-2-1 Surge Protectors have TWO independent LED diagnostic lights, one showing protection present the other showing if the device has power. Our competition typically has only one indicator light which is confusing for the technician and homeowner as you cannot easily tell if the device is working.
What type of equipment is guaranteed protection?
Unlike our competition that only covers air conditioners, 5-2-1 Surge Protectors offers a connected equipment guarantee on any electro-mechanical device connected to the AC power line including the entire HVAC unit, Furnaces, Heat Pumps, Motors and Refrigeration Systems.
